Practice IQ payments bridge

Windows. The download is about 35 MB, and about 80 MB once extracted. It also fetches the v22.22.0 runtime it needs from nodejs.org the first time, once. Nothing is installed into Windows itself. Everything lives in the folder you extract, and deleting that folder removes it.

What you do

1. Download the file above and extract it. Extract it first: running it from inside the zip will not work.
2. Run Install-PracticeIQ.bat.
3. Answer the question below. You are asked once, on the first run only.
4. The desk opens in your browser at http://localhost:8899/desk. Leave the black window open. Closing it stops taking payments.

What you are asked, in order

Read from the copy you are downloading, so this is what you will actually see. Everything else is already filled in for your practice. If you are not sure of an answer, stop and ask us rather than guessing.

What it needs from you

Nothing installed alongside it. It finds your Ortho2 server, port and database from the Edge client already on the PC.

Card numbers never reach this software or us. The card is typed into your processor's own secure page, and we are handed a token and an outcome.

If it does not start

• It says the runtime download failed: a firewall, a proxy or antivirus is blocking nodejs.org. Nothing was started and no payment can be taken. Show the screen to whoever manages the computer.
• It says Practice IQ is already running: it is. Use the window that is already open.
• Anything else: send us the screen. Every refusal it prints says what happened and what was not done.
